Sis, Let's Talk 🫦
"Grief doesn't ask for permission"
For those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Don't ask someone to show up when they can barely get out of bed.
Don't expect someone to smile when their chest is heavy and mind is screaming.
If you are grieving, YOU are not okay. And no- You're not in the headspace to keep explaining that every five minutes.
Grief isn't always quiet. And it doesn't have a timeline. Some days you're numb, others you're angry. And most days you're just trying to breathe without falling apart in public.
So if you notice someone pulling back....respect it.
This isn't about to being distant-this is about surviving.
WARNING: Please don't EVER tell someone I know what you're going through because YOU DO NOT! Everyone who suffered a loss had a different relationship with their loved one.
If you're grieving and not in the mood to sugarcoat it:
You're not alone.
You're not weak.
And you damn sure don't owe anyone your composure or explanation.
However, lean on those who are able to handle what you're facing.
